How do you find the hidden buyers in an enterprise deal?
Start from the roles a purchase like yours always requires, then check which of those roles you have a named relationship with. The gaps are your hidden buyers. Find them through org structure, meeting attendees on the customer side, forwarded threads, security and procurement patterns from past deals, and public signals such as role changes and hiring.
A repeatable method
- Write the role list your last five closed deals required. That is your template, not a generic chart.
- Mark each role covered, contacted or unknown for the current deal.
- Mine the signals you already own: calendar attendees, email cc lines, shared documents, support tickets, product usage.
- Add org context: who reports to your champion's boss, who owns the budget line.
- Ask your champion a coverage question, not a name question: "who else has to agree before this is signed".
- Re-run the check at each stage. New people arrive after the proposal.
Signals that a buyer is hidden, not absent
- Timelines slip for reasons your contact cannot explain.
- Requirements appear that your contact did not raise.
- A security or procurement review starts that you were not told about.
- Your champion forwards rather than answers.
Where Agentive fits
The Scout and Prospector agents look for the missing roles against your own historical pattern, add candidates to the Buying Group Graph with the evidence attached, and prepare the outreach for the seller to approve.
